THE NERVOUS SYSTEM and QUESTIONS I asked myself and my group (I also teach a small group of healers) about the topic of the nervous system and also my answers 1- How does spirituality affect the nervous system? And why? 2- name at least 4 or more conditions of the nervous system? 3- based off of what you do/ profession what could you do or suggest for a client dealing with these concerns 4- name a way your nervous system being affected shows up for you personally what body part responds the most? 5- Name a time when your nervous system was severely compromised by trauma 6- how does your ancestry contribute to your nervous system? 7-how can you reprogram your nervous system? MY ANSWERS #nervoussystem 1-spirituality gives me a reason to believe in something, have faith in something! I believe that when you have a strong belief system your more likely to heal. Feeling support can help ease nervous system tension 2- Alzheimer's Bell's palsy. ... Cerebral palsy. ... Epilepsy. ... Motor neurone disease (MND) ... Multiple sclerosis (MS) ... Neurofibromatosis. ... Parkinson's disease. Stoke Fibromyalgia Sciatica Shingles 3- as a herbalist/wholistic healer dealing with nervous system issues I would first try to find out when the issue started, did it surround a trauma, etc…. Identifying the issue is the root! Second I would treat the symptoms with herbs that have a direct effect on the nervous system and that are specific to the issue 4-my stomach is the first thing that shows signs of issues . It immediately starts flipping to the point of nausea or upsetting to the point I have to use the bathroom. My skin is second I believe when I feel stressed or have any form of anxiety my skin flares up 5- Some of the most traumatic things I had happen to me was 30 years ago ending up a young mother, my life changing and being responsible for someone else . Being in a marriage that ended in divorce and everything that bought it to that point. (this is when my nervous system completely showed up as auto immune issues) Being honest with myself and those around me about my life and lifestyle. But most of all beyond a shadow of a doubt loosing my parents effected me the most . My whole body, mind and spirit took a hit, I could think , eat or function. I didn’t give a fuck about nothing. I don’t even really know how I made it through. As a result I lost a lot of weight, hair loss I felt it added years to my face which also made me extremely depressed 6-my nervous systems response to things is probably a direct reflection of my ancestry. Maybe they held things in, maybe they felt they had to be strong , maybe they felt the need to put guards up , maybe they cared about what people thought etc… 7-I retrain my system by DOING THIS WORK!! staying grounded, being honest with myself, speaking my truth, not holding things in, honoring my feelings, not worrying about what others think, respecting my boundaries Meditation and prayer are a big part as well as working with you all keeps me focused as well as diet and herbal support the herbs I use most - are oat straw, motherwort, tulsi, lemon balm, Passion flower and scullcap motherwort is my go to when I’m grieving my parents and oatstraw and lemonbalm are more of my daily favorites

#respiratorysystem #thyme The respiratory assignment (challenged me to do some shadow work) when you realize how grief is directly connected to the respiratory system you cant help but exam that idea. this is a list of questions I decided to sit with. Im sharing because this may help someone! I chose to spend time with THYME! I used it to cook, bathe, facial steam as well as carry in my medicine bag (as I do with all my herbs) I asked myself honestly without judgement where I fall in? I Journal the ones that sat deepest in my spirit and have affected me the most? WARNING! this type of reflection can lead to some serious but need healing (shadow work) going deep can cause lots of tears but I promise the healing will be worth it! TAKE A DEEP BREATH Your body has been trying to communicate your need to address certain internal emotions. When you refuse to listen to your inner emotions, pneumonia, common cold or flu like illness set in. Your body is desperately trying to literally express the painful truths. We can go deeper with those emotions and the spiritual cause of respiratory/ pneumonia and lung problems: 1- A lack of inspiration. Keeping out anything that is new. 2- An inability to let go (exhalation). A fear of letting something die away. 3- Respiratory issues can relate to a fear of death or seeing someone else suffer or die. 4- An extreme fear of change. 5- A program that also lies in respiratory problems is an underlying desire in not wanting to live, which can also be reflected in depression. 6- Someone or something is taking your life-force away, resulting in the feeling of suffocation. 7- Emotionally, there is a failure to maintain immunity to negative ideas, made worse by a strong ego. 8- There is little tolerance for other ideas or opinions. 9-The reason may be due to being emotionally abandoned at a young age, resulting in the need to build up defenses that have not allowed people in and yourself out. 10- There has been a strong belief in having to deal with the world single-handedly. The end result is being cut off from joy and love. 11- • Desperate. • Tired of life. • Emotional wounds which are not allowed to heal. .

This week we continued on our journey (my family and myself) This week’s Plant Spirit teacher: the fiery Stinging Nettle. Although we did not experience its medicine though flogging ourselves with it LOL (a practice dating back to ancient Egypt in order to release antihistamines to aid with inflammation and swelling, rheumatism and Arthritis) we connected to it, in gentler ways, thru tea, a tincture, and a spell jar ritual we enchanted with our personal magick. For me, the most potent lesson was that of boundaries. Yes, we are giving creatures but not at the expense of ourselves and our light and we will sting if it comes down to it!!! It’s natural to have defenses and protect ourselves, It’s not all necessarily evil or malevolent but rather an unhealed pain from a deep dark place allowed to grow within us come to surface after being suppressed. Connecting w stinging nettle and our own truth helps to set boundaries heal ourselves and find balance. NETTLES MAGIC Nettle magic is the magic of Mothering (a connection that I find myself longing for) nettle in your life reminds you to take the time to nourish yourself at the most basic levels. Nettle’s sting, however, reminds us to value our gifts just as we must honor and protect the work of mothering. Nettle protects herself and her space with a mild sting that can last for days. In this, she asks us to recognize and honor the worth of what she gives; if you’re willing to hazard the sting to gain her treasure, you’re more likely to value what you have taken. Nettle magic is transformation through nurturing and self-worth, like that of a healthy, loving mother. This nourishing herb definitely made me reflect on my boundaries and the protective words of my mother. She reminds us of our power to shift our thoughts and actions into a place of nurturing, encouraging personal and environmental growth, as a mother might shift hers to provide the best possible conditions for her children’s growth. Being both a daughter and mother and now grandmother I understand all aspects, the protection, nourishing and the Sting!!
